"Realistic Art" Google says that the characteristics of the realism movement are: "...the accurate, detailed, unembellished depiction of nature or of contemporary life. Realism rejects imaginative idealization in favor of a close observation of outward appearances. The main goal of realism is to depict the positives and negatives of everyday life..." I guess that's the reason that I don't do much in the way of Realism...I need to add some fantasy.
Can’t just anybody become a fantasy artist?
Yes, but good art evokes an emotional response...whether that is positive or negative is not the point. The point is that it brings forth an emotional feeling in the person viewing it.
